What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy emphasizes the interrelationship between structure and function of the body. Osteopaths are functional anatomists who use manual therapy. They find the health, rather than focus on disease. Osteopathic treatment works to restore proper body mechanics, nerve impulses and the circulation of body fluids.

What Do I Wear To My Appointment?

You should wear athletic clothing, something you can move around in easily. Dress clothes, denim, dresses, skirts, and layers are not ideal for movement.

How Will I Feel After My Treatment?

Each persons response to treatment is different, you may feel immediate relief, you may feel some soreness as the body and its components have been moved. It is important to note that the body will self heal and self regulate after each treatment that can take anywhere from 1 day to 7 days depending on the person.

Is Osteopathy Covered By My Extended Health Care Benefits?

Osteopathy can be covered by your extended health care benefits, you will need to check your plan or call your provider to confirm that it is covered. You can pay with Debit, E-transfer, or Cash.

How Do I Get Reimbursed From My Benefits?

At The Broeckel Clinic, you will pay for your treatment at the appointment, at that point the practitioner will email or print you a receipt in which you can submit to your benefits provider.

How Long Until I Get Better?

This is a very difficult question to answer, the answer is “it depends”, the healing process can be very quick or quite long depending on the persons constitution, vitality, environmental factors, and commitment both mentally and physically to healing.
